The federal governments Solar Homes and Communities Plan provide cash rebates for the installation of solar photovoltaic systems on homes and community use buildings. (Schools are no longer eligible for funding under this program. Schools can apply for grants under the National Solar Schools Program from July 2008 to June 2015).
The Solar Homes and Communities Plan ensures that rebates get to the households that need them most through the introduction of a means test, with households with an annual taxable income of less than $100,000 eligible for the rebates. This rebate system will end on the 30th of June 2009 so contact your local Power Partner on 1300 SOLAR 1 to ensure you do not miss the opportunity to install solar power at the right price, reduce your electricity bill and do your part to help the environment.
